Basic Care
Maine Coons thrive when their unique needs are met with consistent, attentive care.
Nutrition
Main Coons require a specialized diet to support their large size and overall health.
-
Provide high-quality, specialty dry cat food designed for large-breed cats.
-
Supplement their diet with fresh organ meats from your local butcher to ensure they receive essential nutrients.

Dental Care
To maintain good oral health:
-
Brush their teeth once a week using a cat-safe toothpaste and toothbrush.
-
Regular brushing helps prevent plaque buildup and keeps their gums healthy.

Parasite Prevention
Keeping your Maine Coon parasite-free is essential.
-
Administer routine de-wormer treatments as recommended by your veterinarian.
-
Use flea and tick prevention throughout the year to protect their skin and coat.

Coat Care
Maine Coons have long, luxurious fur that can table without regular maintenance.
-
Brush their coat several times per week to prevent mats and reduce shedding.
-
Regular grooming also helps distribute natural oils and keeps their fur soft and healthy.
